I have been in my feelings a lot lately. As I prepare to move across the country AND send my youngest off to college, I guess that should come as no surprise. Reflecting on my life and what I've accomplished thus far and recalling memories that I hold close to my heart, I have come to realize a few things. As humans, no matter how hard we try to hold onto our memories, there are things outside our control that distort or affect them. The first being aging. With the passing of time, memories begin to get a little fuzzy around the edges and aren't as clear as they once were. The second is societal norms and how society's expectations affect us and possibly dampen the excitement we may feel during specific moments of life. Finally, there are moments we just plain old can't remember because we were too young, and let's face it, we can't remember every single thing that has occurred in our lives. But maybe we love something so much now that we want to relive that moment. Regardless, memories are what we are left with and I am thankful for that; but aren't there moments in YOUR life you wish you could experience again for the first time? I say YES! Here are the 10 things I would like to experience again for the first time in no particular order. Some are more predictable and others, not as much:

Seeing my girls' faces for the first time after they were born.
First date with my husband.
My dad walking me down the aisle at my wedding.
Eating deep dish pizza. (OMG am I going to miss good Chicago deep dish pizza when we move!)
Seeing the ocean.
Setting up my first classroom.
Reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. (this book is sooooooo good!)
Finding my wedding dress with my mom.
Seeing positive pregnancy tests.
Moving out of my parents home and that feeling of being on my own.
I would love to hear the things you would love to experience again for the first time. It's a fun conversation starter because whenever I ask someone this question, their response is alwyas, "That's a great question! Let me really think about it."
The answers are usually so different and I love that! Thanks for being here!
